REFLECTIVE TEACHING

Reflection: reflejo,crítica,reflexión.
Reflection: an effect produced by an influence.
First of all, I started by giving the definition of "reflection" to have a clearer idea of what it is in English as well as in Spanish.Reflective teaching is an essential tool for our proffesional development as teachers. In my opinion, my own way of teaching would be a sort of blend of reflection, imitation and experience. In firstly because reflection is the most important way to self-evaluate "how am I doing my work?", but, I would do that outside of the classroom, while planning my next class or after them.Second; imitation would give me the pattern of how to behave, how to speak in front of the class and even how to adopt an style, of course by imitating the good things that teachers left me through my whole period as a atudent. And third, the experience, which is the richest, is what we must use day by day while teaching in the classroom, while preparing the material or in any process of our life as teachers.
Every day we get a little of experience at doing something and is that experience what we must not burry and forget it but use it in order to improve and be better at what we do everyday.
Reflection means mirroring, meditation, deep thinking and transformation.
In the context of teaching; reflection can be interpreted in terms os mirroring symbolizing or representing, as well as in terms of thoughtful consideration.
Penington describes reflective teaching as "a movement in teacher education in which teachers analyze their own practice and their own underlying basis and then consider alternative means of achieving their ends". That would be the aim of reflective teaching.
